I recently made a trip to New York City to have some fun with my FujiFilm X100F. A newly purchased camera that I’ve previously rented.
It’s a perfect travel camera because of its size and unassuming nature. It looks a lot like a film camera, has a small built-in lens, and can fit in my jeans pocket. It’s also a really popular street photography camera.
Although I don’t consider myself much of a street photographer, it’s fun to switch things up every once in a while. And capturing New York City in black and white was the perfect way to do that.
The Highline In Black & White
This was my first time ever visiting the Highline. There were so many people, but again this was NYC. So it wasn’t unexpected. Had some pretty nice views of the city. And the Highline itself was pretty cool. A great way to explore some of the city.
A Handful of Times Square Photos In Black And White
I loved my photos of Times Square in color and they didn’t quite have the same impact in black and white. These are the photos I feel looked best.
Central Park & A Few Random Images
The camera’s lens is fixed so it doesn’t zoom or go wide. I felt it was hard to capture all of Central Park so I decided to capture a small moment of light and shadow play near the steps.
The last two images are a few random shots. From where exactly, I can’t remember. (Besides being in the subway for the 2nd one lol)
Wrapping Up
This was a fun trip in NYC, but I’m hoping to get back up there soon. Got a bunch more sights to see!
