Hi, I’m Doug Ash. I enjoy trail running, hiking, traveling, and photography, which gives me no shortage of subjects to shoot. And things to write about.
Based in Richmond, VA I often find myself in the Blue Ridge Mountains but thoroughly enjoy shooting here in Richmond or elsewhere in my travels. You will typically find me somewhere on the southern portion of the Appalachian Trail, whether it’s in VA or below with hopes of hiking further north in the near future.
Striking the right balance between hiking and photography gear has become very important to me, as I like traveling light and fast. My camera kit, while still being actively assembled, must flow together with the hiking gear setup I have methodically put together over the last few years.
Besides landscapes and nature photography, I am an active member of the local running community and am slightly obsessed with Marvel movies. If I am not working on my photography stuff during the weekends, I am generally exploring Richmond (aka RVA). Our brewery scene has been blowing up the last couple of years and my neighborhood has been leading the charge.
