Editing Photos In a Pinch on Your Cellphone

I edit mostly through Lightroom on my laptop, processing photos that I take with my DSLR camera on my laptop then exporting them through various methods to my phone.

But for pictures that I take with my cell phone or images that have left my laptop workstation, I use Snapseed.

It has various quick edit filters such as Lens Blur, Drama, Grunge and the classic HDR Scape. Each of these filters are adjustable so can decide just how much of an HDR effect you want on your pictures. (We all know that type of filter can get a little out of hands at times.)

Before I purchased Lightroom I used the app a lot, mainly using the HDR Scape and Drama effect. Making sure I rarely went past the 20-30 filter strength range to ensure a level of realism.

Snapseed also has tools more akin to classic photo editing software such as; Brightness, Highlights, Shadows and Saturation to name a few. It’s healing tool works quite well, especially if I missed something on a picture I am about to upload to Instagram from my computer.

The interface is pretty intuitive and user friendly with a ton of great features. It’s free for both Android and Apple. Go ahead and download the app to give it a go.
