One grand ole Saturday I decided to wake up and attempt to capture an amazing sunrise. Heading to the Belle Isle area to park and walk I noticed the sunrise becoming enveloped by clouds.
So instead of giving up I decided to take advantage of the moody clouds and ventured downtown. (For another view of the moody clouds that day, click here for a fellow Richmonder’s view from across the river.)
I have always enjoyed shooting singular objects with a lot of negative space, but the colors and overall mood of the image is what makes this one of my favorites. It’s a bit mysterious and doesn’t really let on to what it actually is.[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”25″ exclusions=”305,501,502,892,1038,1039,1040,1041,1042,1043,1044,1045,1046,1047,1048,295,234,235,238,236,240,241,242,237,243,244,245,246,247,248,249,239,250″ display=”pro_blog_gallery”]
Here’s another angle of the object showing it to be one of their lights.[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”25″ exclusions=”305,501,503,892,1038,1039,1040,1041,1042,1043,1044,1045,1046,1047,1048,295,234,235,238,236,240,241,242,237,243,244,245,246,247,248,249,239,250″ display=”pro_blog_gallery”]
So the next time you’re cruising around Downtown Richmond, VA pay a visit to Kanawha Plaza in front of the Federal Reserve and check out these very unique lights.
